Teen / New Driver Education:
"Basic" (Ages
14 +)
Teen/New Driver Education - Consists of 8 hours of classroom instruction, and 6 hours behind
the wheel one on one training.
Behind the Wheel training includes city, rural and interstate driving with strong
emphasis on defensive driving tactics. DMV training which prepares the student for their South Carolina Department of Public
Safety and Transportation road test.
The student can start the Behind-The-Wheel training prior to the classroom
session if we have openings available. Teen
/New Driver Education: "Plus" This
program outline is the same as the basic program with extended behind-the-wheel (2 hrs) drive time. This allows our instructor
additional time to further your students skills. Teen/New
Driver Education: "Deluxe" Same
as "Plus" program and includes one trip to the DMV for the state Road Test using one
of our training vehicles.
Traffic
School:
(Point Reduction/Defensive
Driving)
Consist of, and requires, 8 Hours of
classroom instruction on defensive driving skills and various driving tactics, which include, but not limited to city, rural
and night time driving.
Participation in this program removes 4 points from the individuals driver record. This
will not remove the violation from your record, just reduce the total points by 4.
SCDPS allows individuals to
attend a point reduction program only once every three years.
Insurance Premium reduction:
Teens who complete a drivers education program may be entitled to a insurance premium reduction. Individuals need
to consult with their insurance provider to determine the percentage of reduction. Typically, premiums are reduced by 2% to
15% (contact your insurance agent for the discount rate) the savings will more than offset the cost of a driver education
program.
Instructor Certification Program:
Individuals desiring to teach
drivers education, either as an employee of a driving school or as a business venture, are required to attend 40 hours of
instruction. Our program is scheduled to accommodate your specific needs and meet the state requirements for certification.
This program is scheduled around your specific needs! Basic Car Maintenance:
Learn to change a tire, check fluid levels and other important basic car maintenance information. This
program is 2 hours for $45.00.
